At least two people were killed in a head-on crash when a motorist attempted to make a pass on a northern Minnesota highway on Wednesday.
The State Patrol reports the head-on collision involving a Toyota Camry and a Toyota RAV4 happened around 11:50 a.m. on Highway 65 in White Pine Township, Aitkin County.
The Patrol says a 23-year-old Brooklyn Park man in the Camry was southbound on Hwy. 65 just south of Hwy. 27 when he attempted to pass the motorist ahead of him. While passing, he collided head-on with the southbound RAV4.
Two people in the RAV4 were killed. They have been identified as Sandra Lee Erickson-Brown, 75, and Wayne E. Brown, 84, both of Jacobson, Minnesota.
The 23-year-old from Brooklyn Park's condition has not been released.
The driver of the vehicle that was being passed was not injured in the crash.
