Attempted luring of 14-year-old girl reported in West St. Paul

The suspect is described as a white man in his 40s.

Police in West St. Paul are investigating an attempted luring that was reported Thursday morning.

The victim was a 14-year-old girl who told police she was walking in the area of Bidwell Street and Logan Avenue at 9 a.m. when the luring attempt happened.

The suspect was driving a white "work style" van with a sliding door, one window, a "noticeable scratch on the back," and no license plates, West St. Paul Police Department said.

The suspect himself was described as a white man in his 40s with a long beard, glasses, and a raspy voice.

"Talk with your children and let them know that if someone makes them feel unconformable, even if they cannot explain why, they need to walk away immediately," said West St. Paul PD.

"These interactions should be reported to a trusted adult or immediately call 911."
