ATV driver in Wadena dies after losing control on dirt road, going into ditch

It happened Wednesday evening in rural Compton Township.

A 39-year-old Wadena man died Wednesday night in an ATV crash.

The man had been traveling on a Polaris Sportsman on a dirt road in rural Compton Township around 6:30 p.m., the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office said, when he lost control and went into a ditch.'

First responders at the scene found him unresponsive near the ATV. They attempted life-saving measures, but he was pronounced dead.

The man's name is not being released at this point. The crash is under investigation, the sheriff's office said.
