Authorities appeal for help finding missing Lake City man

The 62-year-old was last seen Saturday.

Authorities are asking for the public's help locating a southeastern Minnesota man last seen Saturday.

John Vater, 62, hasn't been seen since leaving his home in Lake City on May 22, according to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. The local police department is now asking for the public's help finding him.

Vater was wearing a dark jacket, gray shorts and baseball cap that day, according to the alert. He is about 5-foot-11, 159 pounds with brown eyes and gray hair.

His last recorded cellphone activity, however, was Saturday in Winona - 45 miles away from Lake City.

Anyone with information regarding Vater's whereabouts is asked to call 911.
