Authorities asking for help finding 2 suspects in Bemidji shooting

Police say the victim is not cooperating with investigators.

Investigators are looking for two people connected to a weekend shooting in Bemidji that left a man with multiple gunshot wounds.

The shooting happened early Saturday morning at an apartment complex on the 2800 block of Ridgeway Avenue. Police were called to the scene and discovered the victim, an unidentified 19-year-old male.

According to a press release, he was taken to a hospital, treated for "numerous gun shots" and released.

Police believe the shooting was the result of a verbal altercation, though the victim has "refused cooperate with detectives or give any information related to the shooting."

Investigators have uncovered surveillance photos (above) of two possible suspects, one of whom appears to arrive at the entrance of the apartments in a "gold or silver Cadillac 4-door sedan" wearing a tan plaid short sleeve shirt, black shorts and a red and black baseball cap.

The release says after shooting the victim, the suspect fled the area in the Cadillac with an unknown driver. He is considered armed and dangerous

"A second male wearing a red sweatshirt is also present just before the shooting," the release notes.

The Bemidji Police Department is appealing to the public for help identifying the suspects as well as the vehicle. Anyone with information on the crime is urged to submit an anonymous tip — with the possibility of a $1,000 reward — through Crime Stoppers of Minnesota.
