After several hours, authorities wrapped up a search of Keller Lake in Maplewood Tuesday afternoon after no new evidence was found leading to the body of Kira Trevino.

St. Paul Police, the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office and cadaver dogs returned to the area Tuesday morning after trained search and rescue dogs directed officers to a specific spot on the lake over the weekend, Sgt. Paul Paulos said at a news conference.

An 11-member dive team scoured the lake, but found nothing.

Over the weekend, family, friends and officers searched Keller Regional Park after an "item of interest" was found. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is analyzing the potential evidence, but police won't elaborate on what was found.

The search began in Maplewood after it was reported that a woman told police she saw two men carrying what appeared to be a rug on Keller Lake between 1 and 2 a.m. the night Kira Trevino disappeared.

Kira Trevino is presumed dead by authorities after blood was found in her car and at the Trevino's home. Her husband, 39-year-old Jeffery Trevino, faces charges of second-degree murder.
