Authorities have identified the man who died in a police shooting in St. Louis Park on Saturday.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office said that Matthew Neil Tuhkanen, of Anoka, died from multiple gunshot wounds at 6:25 p.m. Saturday.

Tuhkanen was shot at the Louisiana Court Apartments complex in the west metro suburb, with the official address given as Unit 7, 2760 Louisiana Court.

Details of what led to the shooting have yet to be released, but St. Louis Park PD said over the weekend that they had been called to a report of a "verbal domestic."

The officer involved in the shooting has not yet been identified, with the incident being investigated by the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office.

They have been placed on standard administrative leave while the shooting is investigated.

KSTP reports, citing public records, that Tuhkanen had prior warrants in Anoka County for trespassing, assault and disorderly conduct.
