Authorities ID pedestrian fatally hit by car outside Fleet Farm

The 88 year old from Cambridge died in the hospital 10 days after the incident.

The pedestrian who died in a hospital after a collision outside a Fleet Farm in Cambridge has been identified as Ruth Michael.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office says the 88 year old from Cambridge died at North Memorial Hospital 10 days after the incident on Feb. 18.

It happened at 2324 3rd Ave NE, the address of the Cambridge Fleet Farm store.

Cambridge Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances of the collision, but the Star Tribune is reporting she was hit by her husband accidentally at the Fleet Farm carwash.

According to her obituary, Michael had been married to her husband Hank for almost 62 years, and they have four children, 11 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Over the years they have lived in Milaca, Crystal, and Blaine, before eventually retiring to Cambridge.

"Ruth dedicated her life as a humble servant of God, her precious family and countless others," the obituary reads.

Her funeral was held this past Thursday.
