The identity of a man shot dead following a quarrel with his father has been revealed.

Joshua Effertz, 37, of 89th Curve NE in Blaine, died at Hennepin County Medical Center at 8:08 a.m. on Friday, having been shot an hour earlier at his home.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner says he died of multiple gunshot wounds, and designated his death a homicide.

Effertz's 61-year-old father called the police at about 7 a.m. to report the alleged shooting, and handed himself into the authorities, according to the Star Tribune.

WCCO reports Effertz lived in a mobile home which he shared with his father, and police said the two had a domestic dispute, though what it was over has not yet been revealed.

Neighbors told the TV station Effertz staggered out of the home after screams and gunshots were heard, before collapsing in the street.

His father has been arrested on suspicion of second degree murder.
