The Anoka County Sheriff's Office is investigating allegations of underage drinking at a property in Mille Lacs County owned by a county official and a police officer that sent one teen to the hospital last week.

The Mille Lacs Messenger reports 17-year-old Bailey Hamilton was unresponsive when he was transported to the emergency room in the early morning hours of May 27 with a blood-alcohol level of .21 percent.

Bailey admitted to drinking half of a 1.75 liter bottle of vodka at a graduation party held on the property near Foreston, Minn. that belongs to Mille Lacs County Attorney Jan Jude and her husband, Russ Jude, a Mille Lacs Tribal Police investigator.

The newspaper says the bonfire party took place in a field near the West Branch Rum River, a short walk from the Jude's house.

When Mille Lacs County sheriff's deputies arrived on scene, several people fled into the woods, according to a news release.

Two concerned parents told the newspaper that their underage children had also been drinking at the party along with other kids.

When asked if she hosted the party, Jan Jude said, "Absolutely not. There was no juvenile alcohol party at my house."

To avoid a conflict of interest, the Anoka County Sheriff's Office is investigating the case.

No charges have been filed.
