Missing Brooklyn Park baby found safe, 2 in custody
Police found a 2-month-old boy in St. Paul Tuesday afternoon after disappearing from a Brooklyn Park apartment overnight. WCCO reports a man and a woman are in custody.
Around 6 a.m., the baby's mother called 911, telling officers that she put her son down on a couch at Moonraker Apartments around 1 a.m. and when she came back to check on him five hours later, he was gone, according to KARE 11.
Police say there was no evidence to suggest forced entry and FOX 9 noted that the single mother has no known custody issues.
The suspects have not been identified, but a FOX 9 reporter says the baby's mother knew the woman.
No Amber Alert was issued.
According to FOX 9, law enforcement must satisfy two criteria before issuing an Amber Alert: there must be reason to believe the victim is in imminent danger and there must be information to disseminate to the general public which could assist with the recovery.
