Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., filmed a short video this week on "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day" to show her support for the fast food restaurant, CityPages notes.

Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy sparked controversy when he waded into the culture war over gay marriage this summer. On a radio show in June he said, "I think we are inviting God's judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say, 'We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage.'"

His comments drew both criticism and support from those active in the debate over gay marriage. His supporters vowed to show up for lunch at his restaurants Wednesday in a show of solidarity. (There are three Chick-fil-A restaurants in Minnesota, in Mankato, Minneapolis and St. Paul.)

The restaurant reported "unprecedented" business on Aug. 1.

On Friday there was a kiss-in by gay couples scheduled at Chick-fil-A outlets nationwide as a counter-protest, the Los Angeles Times reports.
