Trying to position herself as the most conservative choice among the Republican Party's presidential contenders, Michele Bachmann on Monday took shots at what she calls the "frugal socialists" of the right wing. She didn't name names, but said rivals Rick Perry and Mitt Romney are naive and do not know how to tackle Obama's health care law.

Michele Bachmann is scheduled to join fellow former GOP presidential hopeful Herman Cain as a speaker at a “Unity” Tea Party rally at the Republican National Convention – an event aimed at both promoting solidarity with the party and serving notice to it that the Tea Party can't be ignored.

Mitt Romney's presidential campaign says the presumptive Republican nominee will appear with Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann in Portsmouth, Virginia, Thursday afternoon. Bachmann recently said she delayed endorsing her party's candidate because she was working behind the scenes to bring various Republican factions together.

The Boston Globe earlier quoted anonymous sources suggesting Michele Bachmann might soon endorse her former rival, Mitt Romney. But Bachmann's team said the report is "completely false" and asked the paper retract the article. Romney is making a campaign stop in the Twin Cities on Wednesday.

Mitt Romney calls Bachmann a 'friend and strong competitor.' Newt Gingrich says she is 'a considerable talent' with 'great courage.' Those are among the praises for Bachmann by other GOP presidential candidates she sparred with during the campaign.

The Minnesota Congresswoman told the Christian Broadcasting Network that she was doomed because the media focused on a few minor stumbles involving Elvis Presley and John Wayne. Bachmann dropped out of the race for the White House after a sixth-place finish in the Iowa caucuses. She formally endorsed Mitt Romney for the Republican nomination Thursday.

The group American Majority says it's time for Michele Bachmann to get out of the presidential race. The executive director for the group that champions Tea Party principals--a strong core of Bachmann's support--says Bachmann is 'a back-bencher and has been a back bencher congressperson for years.'
