Bachmann takes fire from CNN, FOX's O'Reilly

Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., who had kept a relatively low profile since her narrow re-election win, is back in the national news, taking flak from the likes of CNN's Anderson Cooper and FOX's Bill O'Reilly.

After months out of the spotlight, Bachmann spoke at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference last weekend near Washington, D.C., serving up some pointed one-liners directed at President Obama.

She fired barbs at Obama that included criticism of including his handling of the terror attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya last year, and accusations that the president is living an unusually pampered life of luxury.

“Now we find out that there are five chefs on Air Force One. There are two projectionists who operate the White House movie theatre,” Bachmann said. “We are also the ones who are paying for someone to walk the president’s dog – paying for someone to walk the president’s dog."

Then Bachmann had a testy exchange with CNN political reporter Dana Bash, who was prodding Bachmann to further explain her CPAC comments:

Now "in a rather unusual takedown of a conservative," as Business Insider notes, FOX commentator Bill O'Reilly is taking a shot at Bachmann for not coming on his show. On "The O'Reilly Factor" Wednesday night, he called her attacks on Obama a "trivial pursuit:"

The Washington Post notes that Bachmann raised a few more eyebrows on Thursday when she said Obamacare "literally" kills women and children.
