'Badly decomposed' body found in St. Paul drainage ditch
St. Paul police are investigating the discovery of a decomposed body found in a drainage ditch on Monday afternoon.
Police say the body was discovered by an Xcel Energy maintenance worker around 5 p.m. doing work in the ditch near 7th Street and Randolph Avenue.
The body was badly decomposed, to the point that investigators aren't sure if it is male or female.
The medical examiner is reviewing the body and will attempt to identify the person and cause of death.
"It's under investigation," police spokesman Steve Linders told Bring Me The News, "but we probably won't know anything for some time."
