Bar in east-central Minnesota destroyed by overnight fire
A popular bar in east-central Minnesota was destroyed in an early morning fire Wednesday.
CJ's Bar and Grill in Palmdale, located along Hwy. 95 in Chisago County, went up in flames around 4 a.m. Wednesday, according to the sheriff's department.
A release from the Chisago County Sheriff's Office says a 911 caller reported seeing flames from the building. It took several hours for firefighters from numerous area departments to extinguish the flames.
"There are no words other than complete devastation. I think it's [SIC] safe to say we're closed. Thanks for the many years of wonderful memories," reads a message on the bar's Facebook page.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the State Fire Marshal's Office.
