A motorcyclist in northern Minnesota was killed after being ejected.
According to the State Patrol, 53-year-old Steven Million of Baudette was riding westbound on Highway 11 near County Road 4 in Koochiching County around 4:30 p.m. Thursday when he went off the road, into the ditch and was ejected from the motorcycle.
The State Patrol's report said he was not wearing a helmet. Alcohol was not suspected in the crash.
5 motorcycle deaths in April
Although fewer vehicles are on the roads across Minnesota due to the COVID-19 pandemic, traffic-related fatalities have not gone down. From March 16-April 21, there were 31 fatal crashes on Minnesota roads, resulting in 35 deaths, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety's Office of Traffic Safety says.
In April of this year, there were 21 traffic-related fatalities (in April 2019 there were 17), including five motorcyclists.
