Belle Plaine man dies after duck boat capsizes on lake
A Minnesota man died after the boat he was duck hunting in capsized on Saturday morning.
The incident happened around 9:45 a.m. Saturday on Clear Lake in Lexington Township, according to the Le Sueur County Sheriff's Office, which reported that a Belle Plaine man, identified as 55-year-old Jeffrey E. Brooks, was found floating in the lake several yards from the duck boat that had capsized.
Responding deputies also found 29-year-old Nicholas J. Brooks sitting on top of the capsized boat.
Lifesaving efforts were performed at the seen on Jeffrey Brooks and he was airlifted to the Mayo Clinic-St. Marys in Rochester, where he died during the "night-time hours," according to the sheriff's office. .
Nicholas Brooks was transported to a hospital in New Prague.
