Bernie Sanders will be campaigning in Minnesota next week for his one-time rival Hillary Clinton.

Recent polls in Minnesota show Clinton's lead over Republican Donald Trump has narrowed, and Sanders – who beat Clinton in the state's presidential caucuses back in March – will visit in hopes of drumming up support for the Democratic nominee.

The Vermont senator will attend rallies in Minneapolis and Duluth Tuesday, where he's expected to discuss Clinton's "plan to build an economy that works for everyone," as well as encourage people to register to vote, the Pioneer Press reports.

  • From 3-6 p.m., Sanders will rally support for Clinton and other Democratic candidates at Northrop Plaza, according to Clinton's website.
  • From 7-9 p.m., he'll attend a similar rally at the Kirby Ballroom in Duluth, the website says.

People are encouraged to RSVP to the event via the links above.

Sanders has been campaigning across the country in an effort to rally support for Clinton, and woo young voters who had thrown their support behind him ahead of the primaries – but have been reluctant to support Clinton ahead of the Nov. 8 election, the New York Times says.

The publication notes Clinton has included many of Sanders' ideas in her education platform, including eliminating tuition at in-state public colleges for families with incomes up to $125,000, among other things.

Clinton's challenger visited Minnesota last month for a private fundraiser, but Trump has not held any campaign events here, according to MPR News.
