People who are interested can stop by a Best Buy store during the hiring event to learn more. There will also be same-day interviews and on-the-spot job offers. People can also apply online here.
Best Buy is seeking to fill positions in sales, customer service, merchandising inventory, car install technicians and positions within distribution centers, among other jobs.
The company offers a minimum of $15 per hour as starting pay, as well as an employee discount.
COVID-19 will surely have an impact on this year's holiday shopping season – and it already has. Some retailers, including Walmart, Target and Best Buy have said they'll be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
Meanwhile, the majority of retailers believe the shopping season will be longer than last year's, with consumers likely spreading out their shopping over several months, with many starting their shopping as early as October, the National Retail Federation says.
It's not year clear how the pandemic will impact seasonal hirings this year, but CNBC notes that several companies have already announced they're seeking to hire hundreds of thousands of workers for the holiday season.
These job openings will only help a fraction of the millions of Americans who are collecting unemployment due to the pandemic.
