Bicyclist hit and killed by a vehicle in Minneapolis

It happened at 26th and 22nd in Minneapolis.

A bicyclist who was hit by a vehicle on Saturday afternoon has died from his injuries.

Police say a vehicle and bicyclist collided at 26th Avenue South and 22nd Street East in Minneapolis. The vehicle was traveling south on 26th, which is not controlled by stop signs, and the biker was going east on 22nd, which does have stop signs. 

The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with police and there are no indications that the driver was distracted, impaired, or speeding at the time of the crash.

CPR was performed by paramedics but the man riding the bicycle was later pronounced dead at Hennepin Healthcare. His identity is being withheld pending review by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office. 

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
