Bicyclist hit, killed after running red light in Wadena

It happened as he attempted to cross Hwy. 10.

A bicyclist died after being struck by a truck in Wadena late Thursday night. 

The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened when the 39-year-old male bicyclist ran a red light at Hwy. 10 and was hit by a 2009 Chevy Silverado. The bicyclist was traveling northbound on 2nd Street and was hit around 11:15 p.m. while trying to cross Hwy. 10. 

The deceased biker is from Detroit Lakes, although his name is being withheld pending notification of family members. 

A 67-year-old man from Dent, Minnesota was driving the truck. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
