The body was found at 4:27 p.m. by the Coon Rapids Police Department at the Northstar Metro Transit Station at 3050 Northdale Blvd.

With the help of Fridley PD, officers were able to find the possible site of the crash, on tracks south of Osborne Road NE in Fridley, about 7 miles south of where the body ended up.

It's believed that the victim was on a bicycle when they were hit by a northbound Northstar train.

The incident is under investigation, with the victim's identity and cause of death to be released at a later stage by the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office.

As a result of the investigation, northbound Northstar trips were replaced by bus services from Target Field Station from 5:30 p.m. onwards.

It's the second death on a north metro railway line in the space of a month, after a pedestrian was hit by an Amtrak train in Coon Rapids as it headed southbound from Seattle to Chicago.
