Bicyclist killed in Brooklyn Park school bus crash identified as Plymouth man

The 31-year-old was hit by a school bus early Wednesday morning.

A bicyclist fatally struck by a school bus in Brooklyn Park Wednesday morning has been identified by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office.

Phillip Ryan Anderson, 31, of Plymouth, was riding bicycle when a school bus hit him at the intersection of N. 65th Ave. and Zane Ave. just before 6:30 a.m.

The medical examiner ruled that Anderson died of multiple blunt force injuries.

The school bus was en route to a local charter school and carrying 10 children at the time of the crash. The driver, who stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities, was not hurt, nor were any of the students.

The kids were transferred to a different bus and brought to school where counselors were made available throughout the day.

The crash remains under investigation by Brooklyn Park Police Department.
