Bicyclist killed in Osceola collision identified as 15-year-old boy
A bicyclist killed in a collision with a vehicle in Osceola, western Wisconsin, has been identified as a 15-year-old boy.
Isaiah Munn, of Osceola, died after he exited his driveway onto County Road M, just west of Mulligan Drive, when he was struck by an eastbound motorist.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office says Munn's bicycle "traveled into the path of the eastbound vehicle," striking him on his left hand side.
The teen was thrown from his bike, tumbling into a ditch on the north side of the street.
The motorist stopped a short distance away, telling police the bicyclist had pulled out in front of her and "she was not able to see him until it was too late."
She added that "environmental factors made it difficult to see," which the Polk County Sheriff clarified referred to the rising sun in her field of vision.
Munn died from his injuries after being taken to Osceola Medical Center.
"I would like to express our sympathy to the family and community of Osceola for this tragic loss," the Polk County Sheriff's Office said.
