Big snowstorm could play a major role in Packers-Seahawks game

A Sunday snowstorm could add a new twist in a unique rivalry between Green Bay and Seattle.

Is God a fan of the Green Bay Packers or Seattle Seahawks? That seems to have been a point of contention between quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson.

Last year, Rodgers took a shot at Wilson when he claimed "God was a Packers fan tonight," following Green Bay's 27-17 victory over the Seahawks.

Rodgers made the statement in response to Wilson's claim that God helped the Seahawks beat the Packers in the 2014 NFC Championship.

While we aren't sure who is right, it appears that the creator and Mother Nature are cooking up a little midwest welcoming present for the Seattle's visit to Lambeau Field on Sunday – in the form of a winter storm.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for the Green Bay area between Saturday night and Monday.

"Timing ... Early Saturday night through Sunday night. The heaviest snow is expected to fall Sunday.

Snow accumulations... 6 to 8 inches."

Monday Morning Quarterback thinks the bad weather could provide a big lift for the Packers (it would really help the Vikings for Green Bay to lose – so we already know how this is really going to go), but it seems the Seahawks are excited for the opportunity to play in the snow.

Don't forget, not too long before Wilson was throwing footballs around the pacific northwest, he played his college football at the University of Wisconsin – so he's not exactly shying away from snow either.

In recent years the Packers-Seahawks rivalry has been one of the most unique in the league. There was the "Fail Mary" and Green Bay's collapse in the 2014 NFC title game. Now we have the chance to witness the snow play a major role in one of the biggest games of the season.
