Blaine man in custody after he calls police, tells them he killed his wife

The police department says there's no threat to the public.

A Blaine man has turned himself in to authorities following the apparent murder of his wife. 

According to a news release, the 46-year-old called the Blaine Police Department on Friday night and "reported having killed his wife."

Officers responded to the scene, which was on the 2700 block of 95th Ave Northeast, and arrested the man. 

Very few details have been released; neither the suspect nor the victim has been identified, and the nature and circumstances of the homicide are unclear. 

Authorities say there is no threat to the public. 

Blaine police and the Anoka County Sheriff's Office are now investigating the incident.
