The hunt for a man on the run from Wisconsin authorities appears to be headed for Minnesota.

The Trempealeau County Sheriff's Office in western Wisconsin believes Jonathan Pogreba broke into a relative's hunting cabin in Preston, Wisconsin, with a small amount of blood and a note left inside.

There was blood in the cabin and a note, according to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department.

"In the note, Jonathan stated that he took the plates off the white BMW that he was driving and would be traveling to the Boundary Waters in Minnesota where he would leave the car and move out on foot," Waukesha authorities said in a release.

On Thursday, authorities released a statement saying Pogreba had stolen a white BMW and was likely headed to La Crosse or somewhere nearby in Minnesota.

He is wanted for his suspected role in a domestic dispute at his home in Eagle, Wisconsin, in which family members fired gunshots. The sheriff's department believes Pogreba may have been wounded in the dispute.

Pogreba used a credit card in Mauston, Wisconsin and investigators are attempting to find out what he purchased.

Pogreba is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached if you believe you see him. Instead, call 911 or the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office TIP LINE at 262-896-8139.
