Bloodhound finds man who got lost and disoriented after crash in Stearns County
A police bloodhound tracked down an elderly man who became disoriented and walked away from a car crash this week.
According to the Stearns County Sheriff's Office, an 86-year-old man crashed into a drainage ditch on the 12000 block of 130th Ave. in St. Wendel Township, and his vehicle was reported to police around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Deputies arrived at the scene and met up with family members who were searching for the man. While the sheriff's office commenced a search using a drone, a K-9 bloodhound named Storm tracked the man and located him sitting under a tree.
The man was alert and conscious when he was taken by ambulance to St. Cloud Hospital.
The sheriff's office says the man "had put his vehicle in the ditch and attempted to walk back to his residence," and while doing so he "became lost and disorientated."
