Bloomington man dies 8 days after June 2 motorcycle crash

A Bloomington man died earlier this week from injuries suffered in a motorcycle crash in early June. 

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner announced Thursday that 37-year-old Douglas Charles Pierson died just before midnight Monday, June 10, at Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis. 

Pierson was injured in a motorcycle crash just after 5:50 p.m. on Sunday, June 2. He was riding east on American Blvd. W. in Bloomington when he left the roadway and crashed at Interstate I-35W. 

Bloomington police are investigating the accident and further details aren't available. 

According to his obituary, Pierson is survived by three children. A memorial service will be held Friday in Richfield.
