A 26-year-old Burnsville man is in custody after a crash that killed a pedestrian in Bloomington on Tuesday.
The fatal crash happened around 7:30 p.m. on 98th Street near Newton Avenue, with Bloomington Police reporting that a 26-year-old Burnsville man was driving a vehicle eastbound on 98th when he struck a pedestrian crossing the street.
The victim, identified as Donald E. Johnson, 66, of Bloomington, died at the scene.
Police arrested the driver for probable cause DUI criminal vehicular homicide. He is being held at the Bloomington Jail pending formal charges.
Bloomington Police Department is continuing to investigate the crash.
