Woman stabbed to death during apparent domestic dispute in Bloomington

A woman was stabbed to death during a domestic dispute in Bloomington, police have confirmed.

At around 11 p.m. Sunday night, a woman called Bloomington police to report a fight between her mother and her mother’s boyfriend.

After arriving at the property on the 10200 block of Quebec Avenue, they found a 47-year-old woman who had been stabbed multiple times.

Lifesaving efforts at the scene were unsuccessful, with the victim being pronounced dead.

A 56-year-old man was arrested in connection with the death, and is being held on charges of probable cause second-degree homicide.

Police have not yet released the names of anyone involved.

According to the Minnesota Coalition for Battered Women’s most recent report, 19 Minnesota women died in 2017 at the hands of a current or former husband, boyfriend of partner.

Women also accounted for 83 percent of all hospital visits for intimate partner-related violence in the first quarter of 2018, according to the Minnesota Department of Health
