Bloomington store employee collapses on sidewalk after being shot by armed robber
A worker was shot by an armed robber in Bloomington on Tuesday evening.
The shooting happened inside a store located in a strip mall on the 8900 block of Penn Ave. around 7:15 p.m., according to Bloomington Police Department.
Police were called to the business after a man collapsed on a sidewalk in front of the store, with officers finding he had suffered a gunshot wound to his upper body.
The victim was inside the business when a gunman confronted him during an apparent robbery attempt, police said. The victim was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center and was listed in stable condition.
The Star Tribune, citing dispatch audio, reports that the victim is the owner of Penn Lake Roast Beef. The report says the man was shot in the abdomen and hand.
An investigation is ongoing and an arrest has not yet been made.
