Authorities have recovered a body that was found floating in the Minnesota River in Shakopee.
The discovery was reported at 12:20 p.m. Thursday near Huber Park at 150 Fillmore Street North.
Scott County Sheriff's Office deputies and members of Shakopee's police and fire departments recovered the body from the water.
“Our investigators will be working with the Medical Examiner’s Office to make an identification and determine the circumstances surrounding this death,” said Sheriff Luke Hennen.
“The investigation is in the very early stages, so we have very little information to share at this time. We will keep the public informed as we have further information.”
Identification of the deceased and their cause of death will be made by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
