Police say a body has been found following a search for a man missing from a state park campground.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office says it received a report of a missing man at 11:36 p.m. on Wednesday at the Schoolcraft State Park on the Mississippi River.

The 41-year-old, of Deer River, has been "recreating with friends and had walked away from the area earlier in the evening."

A search of the campground and the State Forest area continued overnight, with the search resuming on Thursday.

At 2:47 p.m. Thursday, a man's body was recovered from the Mississippi River.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending family notification, with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office set to rule on his cause of death.
