Authorities searching for a missing boater on Prior Lake have found a body.
The missing person was reported at 7:20 a.m., with the Scott County Sheriff's Office told that the person had not returned home from fishing and boating on Sunday evening.
Police arrived at the Knotty Oar Marina and found the person's unoccupied pontoon and cellphone on their boat slip, with some personal belongings floating nearby in the water.
A search was immediately started, and at around noon a body was found near the boater's boat slip.
"Our investigators will be working with the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine how this person went into the lake,” said Sheriff Luke Hennen.
"Our condolences go out to the family and friends who have lost a loved one."
The identity of the boater has not yet been released. The incident remains under investigation.
