Police say that a man found dead in the trunk of a vehicle in Eagan was likely living in his car.

Eagan Police Department provided more details about the discovery near Diamond Drive and Diffley Road over the weekend.

They received a report of a "body in the trunk," and arrived to find the man was indeed dead in his vehicle.

"This case is still considered under investigation, however preliminary details suggest the man was living in his vehicle and alcohol played a role in the man's death," Eagan PD said. "We do not suspect any foul play."

The police department said it had received "many questions" about the incident from the public, and provided the update on Monday to assure "there is no risk to public safety."

"Although the case is still being investigated, it does not appear there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the event," it added, asking anyone with more information about the man's death to get in contact.

The man's cause of death or identity have not yet been revealed.
