Authorities are working to identity the remains of a "badly burned" body found in a car that was on fire in northern Illinois just before 10 p.m. Saturday night.
According to the Lake County Sheriff's Office, the vehicle involved was recently driven by a woman who was reported missing from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
It's since been determined that the woman to which they're referring i Kathleen Ryan, a teacher in Milwaukee who previously taught economics at Stillwater Area High School.
The Lake County Coroner's Office is working to identify the body, and Ryan's family is holding out hope that it isn't her.

"Dear Facebook, we are looking for my mother, Kathleen Ryan. She was last seen Saturday in St. Francis, WI around noon. Her plan was to come to my 4:30 game at Carmel and see our kids," said Zack Ryan in a Facebook post. "Authorities have been alerted in both states. She has a 2007 Pontiac G6 GT Coupé Black Minnesota plates 013TNW."
Ryan is a teacher at St. Augustine Preparatory Academy and her school bio says she was the economics curriculum director while at Stillwater.
"Ms. Ryan and her family moved to Minnesota where she accepted a position at Stillwater Area High School.
