Body found on railroad bridge in northeast Minneapolis

The body was found around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.

An investigation is ongoing after a body was found on a railroad bridge in northeast Minneapolis Tuesday morning. 

According to Minneapolis Police, a passerby called 911 reporting what they thought to be a body on the railroad bridge near 16th Ave. NE and Marshall St. NE.

Officers and medics arrived and found the male victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene. 

There is no information about how the victim died or the extent of any injuries he may have suffered. 

Minneapolis Crime Lab is processing the scene and collecting evidence, and homicide detectives are working to interview people in the area. 

There are no suspects and no arrests have been made. 

In a separate case late Monday night, Minneapolis Police located a body on a bike trail near Mill Ruins Park near the Mississippi River. A homicide investigation is underway in that case as well.
