Rescue crews searching for a boy missing from Hidden Falls Regional Park in St. Paul have pulled a body from the Mississippi River.
The Ramsey County Sheriff's Office confirmed Thursday evening that the boy's body has been recovered, almost two days after he failed to resurface after going underwater.
It sparked a major search effort, encompassing several emergency agencies that saw boats launched onto the river with specialized search equipment, as well as the use of the State Patrol helicopter that searched both banks of the river.
The Ramsey County Sheriff's Office dive team was also called in to assist.
The sheriff's office says that the search was complicated by the murky water and fast current in the river.
The boy's identity has not been released at this time.
