A body found Tuesday is believed to be that of a Rochester man who went missing in late October, according to the Austin Police Department in southern Minnesota.
The body was discovered by volunteers who were searching the Cedar River near Marcusen Park for David Janson, a 72-year-old man who was reported missing last week, having not been seen since Friday, Oct. 23 been missing since Friday, Oct. 23.
Rochester Police Department issued an alert about Janson's missing status on Monday, Oct. 26, saying he had last been seen at a Kwik Trip gas station in Rochester.
The volunteers found the body submerged in the Cedar River, near a baseball field at Marcusen Park. Austin police said in a release that the body matched the last known description of Janson, in addition to finding Janson's belongings.
There were no signs of foul play.
Rochester police said Janson went missing and was without his diabetes medication.
No further information has been released.
