The body found by a kayaker in the Mississippi River earlier this month has been identified as that of a St. Cloud man.
The Stearns County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the man pulled from the river on June 5 near the St. Cloud water treatment plant was Touy Souvannaphong, 38.
His body is believed to have been in the water for "some time," police had said previously, but the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office was able to obtain some fingerprints that led to his identification by the FBI.
It has not released any information about his cause of death, with the sheriff's office saying the incident is still under investigation.
Police said that a small campsite was located near to where the body was found, but it was unknown at the time if there was any link between the site and Souvannaphong.
He was wearing a t-shirt, shorts and socks when he was found in the river.
