All classes and activities at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul have been cancelled after part of the university was evacuated due to a bomb threat on Wednesday.

According to the university, the bomb threat targeted McNeely Hall, which is home to classrooms and offices for the college's business school.

An alert on the university's website reads: "St Paul campus closed for business and all classes canceled for the day. Essential employees remain on campus. All other employees can leave."

A bomb squad is at the scene conducting a sweep of the threatened area.

The university advised parents coming to campus to pick up their students at McCarthy Gym to the west of Grand and Cretin avenues.
