Both drivers die in head-on crash in Washington County

The crash happened south of Scandia just after 7:30 p.m.

Both drivers involved in a head-on crash in Washington County died Thursday evening. 

The fatal collision happened just after 7:30 p.m. on Olinda Trail N., just north of 170th St. N. in rural Scandia, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.  

Deputies responded to the scene and found the driver of each vehicle unresponsive. The sheriff's office reported that "due to the extent of the injuries, both drivers were pronounced deceased at the scene." 

No further information has been released and the crash is being investigated by the sheriff's office, with assistance from the Minnesota State Patrol.
