Both major hockey polls put Minnesota back in top 10

After an unbeaten weekend, Gophers return to prominence.

The Minnesota Gophers men's hockey team has once again reached the top 10 in NCAA Division I hockey.

Both major college hockey polls have ranked Minnesota in the top 10. U.S. College Hockey Online ranks the Gophers at No. 9 this week, while USA Today/USA Hockey slots them in one spot higher at No. 8.

The Gophers started the season 2-0, beating the University of Alaska teams from both Anchorage and Fairbanks during a weekend road trip.

But Minnesota isn't alone, several other regional college hockey programs find themselves in the top 10. North Dakota is No. 1, in both polls, while Minnesota-Duluth is fourth and St. Cloud State is also in the top 10.
