Boy, 15, dies after being hit by driver in Inver Grove Heights

A 15-year-old boy has died after being struck by the driver of a vehicle in Inver Grove Heights. 

The accident happened around 8:55 p.m. Saturday, March 14, in the 7500 block of Cahill Ave. On arrival, the located a teenager who was struck while crossing the street. He was transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, with Inver Grove Heights Police Department learning of the boy's death on Monday. 

The teen's identity will be released at a later stage by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident cooperated with authorities and showed no signs of impairment, police said. 

The investigation is ongoing and no further information is currently available.
