Boy, 16, arrested for murder after man dies in St. Paul alleyway
Police in St. Paul have arrested a 16-year-old boy after a suspected domestic incident that left a man dead in an alleyway late Sunday night.
A 911 caller reported two people fighting behind a home in the 600 block of Edmund Avenue West at 11:15 p.m. Sunday, with officers arriving to find a man "gravely injured" lying in the alley.
The man died at the scene despite lifesaving efforts from St. Paul Fire medics.
At the scene, two witnesses and a suspect – the teenage boy – were also found, with the two witnesses interviewed and released and the boy taken to the station for questioning.
Just after 6 a.m., police announced that the teen has been arrested for murder in connection to the man's death.
The suspect has not been named, while the victim will be identified at a later date by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office.
St. Paul PD says it is the city's 19th homicide this year. There were 30 reported last year.
