Boy, 14, dies after stolen vehicle flips in St. Paul
A teenage boy who was in critical condition at Regions Hospital after a stolen vehicle crashed and flipped in St. Paul has died.
St. Paul police spokesman Steve Linders confirmed that the boy died at Regions Hospital, and said more details will be released later.
The incident happened just after 5 p.m. Monday, with St. Paul police saying the stolen vehicle crashed at Rice Street and Ivy Avenue West.
The driver was then able to drive away, but then crashed into a light pole at Rose and Sylvan, with the vehicle flipping onto its side.
"When officers arrived, they found a gravely injured teenage boy outside the crashed vehicle," police said.
As of Monday evening, police were trying to figure out how the teenage boy was involved – whether he was in the car or a pedestrian.
