Boy killed, man wounded in south Minneapolis shooting
Two people were shot – a boy fatally wounded – near East 26th Street and South Cedar Avenue in south Minneapolis on Monday night.
Minneapolis Police Department said multiple 911 callers reported the shooting at 10:07 p.m., with officers arriving at the scene to find a boy, identified by police as a "juvenile male," and a man who'd been shot.
The boy, whose age hasn't been disclosed, was in grave condition and died at the scene, police spokesperson John Elder said in a release. The man was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center with injuries that are not life-threatening.
Investigators say preliminary information suggests that "two groups of people were outside shooting at each other, and two people were shot," the release said.
The suspects fled the scene before police arrived.
