A Brooklyn Park father is in custody in connection with the death of his 2-month-old son on Tuesday.

Police were called to an apartment on the 5800 block of 73rd Avenue on the report of an unconscious baby at 12:30 p.m.

When they arrived, the baby was not breathing and, after first aid, he was taken to a hospital, where he died.

The boy's father, a 19-year-old man, was the only caregiver to the child at the time of the incident.

An autopsy provided evidence that led to the man's arrested on suspicion of homicide.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner says the boy died from "multiple blunt force injuries."

BMTN doesn't typically name suspects until they have been charged with a crime.
